Terms

Version 2026-10-08. A draft under review, to be confirmed before anyone outside our first test group joins.

Who can use Mootstead

You must be 18 or over and pass the age check. One person, one account.

What a Moment means

A Moment is a record that two Mootstead devices completed the witnessing exchange together at a time. It is a strong sign that the people holding them met, and it is not proof of who anyone is or of where they were. Please do not rely on it as more than that.

What you agree not to do

• Witness anyone who is not with you, or use tricks to make a Moment with someone elsewhere.
• Share anything illegal, or anything sexual involving anyone under 18.
• Share an intimate picture of someone without their consent.
• Harass, threaten or pretend to be anyone.
• Let someone else use your account, or make more than one.

What we can do

We can remove anything that breaks these terms or the law, pause or close an account, and tell the police where the law requires it. We will tell you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us, and you can ask a person to look again.

Leaving

You can withdraw from any Moment, and remove your account, at any time from the You page.
